Tumblr was founded in 2007 as a microblogging platform and social networking website. It was founded by David Karp and owned by Yahoo! Inc. With Tumblr, it allows people to post content and other multimedia to a short form blog. It also enables users to follow other Tumblr users while also making their blogs private. Most of Tumblr’s features are easily opened on the dashboard interface where posts of followed blogs appear and the option to post content.
